Roof Maintenance & Repair

A damaged roof puts your entire home at risk. Even if it’s a minor issue you can barely see, if it goes unchecked it might create bigger problems down the road. That’s when you need a trusted contractor to get your home looking and feeling new again! With our high quality roof repairs, you’ll be able to rest easy knowing that your home, your roof and your family are all in good hands.

How do I know if I need a roof repaired?

If you notice any leaks, dark spots on your ceiling or any shingles misplaced, it’s a good idea to call a local roofing company. Even if you don’t see any damage, when a storm hits, you might want to contact a contractor to take a closer look for your piece of mind.

How much does it cost to repair a roof?

This will depend entirely on the extent of the damage encountered. Take advantage of our free inspection service and we’ll give you a detailed estimate with everything that needs to be done.

Can I get the roof repairs done through my insurance?

For sure! Your homeowners policy will most likely cover roof damage such as hail and wind. We can help you with the claim filing process, and give your insurance company the information they need to make a decision.

Why is it important to repair my roof?

Regular roof maintenance will extend its lifespan and it will keep it in good condition. You’ll also be able to detect issues sooner, giving you the chance to solve them before having to spend more money on more expensive repairs.

Roof Replacement

A damaged roof compromises the integrity of your home and it leaves your family at risk if a severe storm hits. Moreover, while repairing your roof can be more convenient and somewhat more cost-efficient, there comes a time when replacing it is the only way to guarantee that your home is protected.

Our team of roof replacement specialists will carefully assess your roof and tell you if a replacement is needed. They’ll guide you through the process and give you the information you need to make a decision. Whether you decide to do it via an insurance claim or out of pocket, we can help.

Is it worth installing a new roof?

Replacing your roof is always a good investment when you have roof leaks or visibly damaged shingles, repairs are no longer enough to solve the issues or if your roof is old and its materials are already showing signs of wear and tear. A new roof will also more often than not increase your home value if you pair it with other home improvements.

How many years does a new roof last?

You can expect your roof to last more than 15 years before needing some work done unless your home gets hit with a severe storm that damages its integrity.

How long does it take to reroof a house?

Typically, a new roof installation takes 1 day on an average sized home, and 2 days for larger houses. This will be addressed by your sales representative once the job gets underway.

Helpful Hints

1. The Insurance Claim

HAIL AND/OR HIGH WINDS constitute an insurable loss. This loss is one that your property insurance company is obligated to cover. It is your company’s fiscal and legal obligation to return your property to the condition it was in prior to the loss. This is obviously an expensive undertaking for the insurance industry; however, one that is inherent to the risk management business. As a property owner, it is your responsibility to contact your property insurance company if you believe you have a claim. There is a time limit imposed by your insurance company for filing a claim, so call your insurance company right away if you know you have damage.

If you’re not certain, then give us a call! We will give you a free inspection of your property so you can know for sure. We will inspect the storm damages to your property and give you a true local and well established contractors opinion of how much actual storm damage we feel was done to your property.  HINT - a roof damaged by hail and/or high winds will void the manufacture’s warranty and could cause your roof to eventually begin leaking! Your insurance company does not want to pay for any interior damage if they can prevent it with a new roof.

2. The Insurance Companies Inspection

Once you have filed a claim, your property insurance company will send out an insurance adjuster who will inspect your property for any visual signs of damage. If any property damage is found, you will be paid for a replacement of like kind and quality. HINT - Hail can damage your roof without any visual signs from the ground. Ordinarily, hail has to be the size of golf balls before it actually breaks through your roof shingles; however, if it is driven by high winds, or if it hails longer than just a few minutes, or if your roof is an older roof, you may have suffered damage to your roof.

If your adjuster says there’s very little damage and you feel that there could be more damage, contact us! If after our free inspection we feel that there could be additional damages to your property, then all you have to do is contact your insurance company and request a re-inspection with an adjuster. We will help you on the re-inspection of your property by meeting with the insurance adjuster with you and showing the adjuster where we feel the property damage is.

3. The Insurance Companies Estimate

In order to settle a claim, whether it is a hail, wind, or fire damage, your insurance adjuster is taught to estimate the full cost to repair the damage that they have assessed. Most discrepancies only occur because the adjuster has not assessed the same amount of damage as the contractor has or when the contractor’s opinion on the repair process differs from the adjuster’s.

At GRO Construction Inc., we will honor all insurance company claim settlements and we will perform quality work at insurance rates! If we feel that the insurance company has not assessed all of the damages, or if they are not paying current market rates for the repairs needed, we will work to get it from your insurance company.

HINT - Even if you think you have already settled your claim directly or have already received payment from your insurance company, you may not have collected enough money to complete the repairs as construction prices are always changing!
